First of all if you’re tired and can’t handle the stress, you should be at home resting. Some doctors don’t want to be bothered with the paper work. I am 38 weeks pregnant, I work at a cash vault and was on my feet all day, lifting, pushing money bags and stuff like that. I started to literally drag myslef to work until one day I couldn’t do it anymore. And told my doctor and he put me out of work. I am due August 30 and my last day of work was July 1st, so yes you can have the doctor put you out if you’re not feeling well. Cause I was really getting sick and vomitting and stuff, so it was time for me to saty home. Also my job pays for short trem disability and maternity too. So right now I’m getting my full pay. Find out from your HR department if you’re covered and try to atke off. Hope he gives you a brake. Good luck!

I think that you should listen to what your doctor says…otherwise, why would you have him as a doctor? If they don’t want to make you do anything at work, and will let you take an extra couple of weeks, do that instead. Your doc evaluated you and decided that you don’t need to get off early. You should be happy that you are having such a healthy pregnancy.

i think that he’s being odd. If you think your company will let you, i say just ask them for the extra 2 weeks without a doctors waiver. They might let you. Maybe doc doesn’t understand what this job is really about? or maybe he doesn’t think your company would approve anyway? Ask him why..and maybe he will give you a good reason that no one else has thought of..maybe not. See if you can use short-term disability or vacation days instead of maternity leave.

Pregnancy is a condition not a disease, most women do work up until 2 weeks of due date if not longer.
