Mercedes Engine Noise: Sounds like an old bus?

desimc89 asked:

I have a ‘99 E430. Recently, my car has started to emit weird engine noises; think as if you’re parked at an intersection, a vehicle pulls over next to you and you can immediately tell it’s either a big truck or a bus. That is the kind of engine noise I’m referring to, that heavy machinery clanking very atypical of a Mercedes. And it’s especially concentrated around my transmission area.
For example, when the a/c is off and I’m backing out of my driveway, as I shift from reverse to drive and pull onto my street, you can distintly hear that claking of gears and it’s right underneath my gearbox.
Any help would great!

finally giving in and decided to buy a snowblower rather than spend hours digging out with shovel. live in northern nj where winters are either mild and then we get a blizzard, or we get snow every other day. i’m a short, middle-aged woman and am not looking forward to dealing with a heavy piece of machinery early on a cold winter morning… but i don’t want a light-weight dinky electric snow shovel, either. any recommendations?

Including on-road trucks and off-road construction equipment. Not including automotive diesel, maritime, or power generation engines. Approximate number from personal experience is fine.

I am trying to create a maintenance log for tools and equipment on a commercial construction job site?

My question is does anyone know any good links to maintenance sheets outlining the different milestones, maintenance, and repair needs? Lists are great too. Right now I plan to create two reports. One log detailing all maintenance to include date, cost, and reason. Then I will make a sheet for each item indicating what maintenance it will require. This second log will be done for items such as pumps, generators, gas operated tools, battery operated tools, hand tools and vehicles. I will be creating this report using excel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
