St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies recovered more than $100,000 worth of stolen construction equipment and arrested seven men connected to the case. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies recovered more than $100,000 worth of stolen construction equipment and arrested seven men connected to the case. According to Captain George Bonnett, a sheriff’s office spokesman, the arrests were made last Thursday. Investigators received information from the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office about a case they were working which led them to the Northshore. Detectives obtained a search warrant for a home in the 59000 block of Carroll Road.

Police found seven men in the home, arrested and charged them with possession of stolen property, Bonnett said. Hundreds of counts are expected to be filed against the suspects.

Bonnett said most of the equipment had been stolen from trailers on construction sites.

Police said the following men were arrested: Juventino Trejo, 43; Gustavo Lucio, 37; Isidro Mendoza, 32; Juan A. Lopez, 23; Jose Lopez, 21; Alberto Lopez, 19, and Juan M. Lopez, 17.

Trejo and Lucio were the only suspects in the country legally, Bonnett said. The remaining five men have immigration holds pending the outcome of a trial.

The sheriff’s office said the arrests have cleared 12 burglary cases thus far and more are expected to be cleared.
